Dick Blumenthal Stumped On How To Create A Job
Man, this is the difference between Democrats and Republicans, between left and right, it can't be more clearer than this.
It's not true that the government cannot create jobs. For example, were the government to outlaw tractors and farm machinery, that would create millions of jobs as people tried to do a combine's work with their bare hands. Pol Pot was able to acheive full employment that way. If the government were to outlaw airline travel in favor of Amtrak, millions of jobs would be created building and repairing track. The governments of Asia and Africa provide many imaginative examples of how the government can create jobs.
