Illinois Review: Should social issues matter to the Tea Party movement or GOP?

An interesting bit on the Tea Parties for Unitarian Universalists as I suspect most know UUs know little of them. Illinois Review: Should social issues matter to the Tea Party movement or GOP?:
Recently, an individual interested in getting involved in the Tea Party movement queried over 30 Illinois Tea Parties about their positions on social issues. Except for three, all of them responded that they would not address social issues in their groups' because it was too divisive.
Pretty remarkable self discipline and focus on the part of outfits truely grassroots, and from-the-bottom-up, lacking a single spokesperson or leader.
