I think the answer's simple. Simply add an 's'. UU's have had plenty of mission statements, and we'll have more. They'll be as many statements: written or unwritten, spoken, or left unspoken; as there have been UUs.

The question isn't if UUs can have mission statements - it's if Unitarian Universalism as a religious movement can have one.
It's the sum of our Mission Statements. All concatenated together over space and time.
